Freedom is fun
Freedom can be found in so many areas in your life that you aren't fully aware of. Let's take a moment and focus on the liberating feeling of minimalism. Less is more. Organizing clutter doesn't have to be a thing. You really can live with less and have a life that is filled with more. That's a daring mouthful, isn't it?
The lovely, miss minimalist, describes it like this, "being a minimalist isn’t only about white walls and empty spaces. It’s about eliminating the distractions that keep us from fully appreciating life".
For me, I have found that every time I get rid of something, it's freeing and I feel a little taller. I start to see the moment as a deep breath being let out and the thing that I gave away, as something with little to no value, if I am looking at the bigger picture. I begin to see a direction I didn't once see and a life that I am eager to pursue. With less distractions in my life, whether its people giving off negative vibes, anxieties you can't seem to get rid of, or that collection of movie tickets I had kept for years, that meant nothing..less is seriously more and I would have never thought I ever would say that. Never say never, right?
The less I own, the more I know I can accomplish and the more productive I become. For instance, I'm about to move out of a house I currently live in that is decorated from head to toe. Upon moving day, I won't be taking quite the big load of things with me. My next place, I will resort to minimal decoration, yet meaningful ones, a new sense of style and purpose in my home and sticking to the things I actually really like and need. I can't take anything with me when I die, so why store up here on earth?
Now, coming from a fashion marketing major, this lifestyle is completely opposite of what I have ever lived, or where I thought I would be. More is not the merrier, unless its with people. This lifestyle will allow me to pursue what I care for most.
Don't be shy, give it a try. You will thank yourself later.
Fearfully & wonderfully made,
